"The last partnering step I want to show you is a pivot turn. It can happen in closed position or in open position, but closed is much better, you have a better lead on the back for it. Let's just go from a basic. You went one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Now, here's what the step is. You do pivot, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Let me break down how I lead it. I'm doing most of the leading from this frame. Anywhere that I do, my partner has to follow me because I'm bringing her with me. I'm caressing her back, I have my palms spread as wide as it can with my fingers and I'm bringing her anywhere that she has to follow. This hand is also leading a little bit, but not much. This hand is just keeping the resistance here, keeping the space. Out of our basic we went, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and one, two, three, and, five, six, seven, and. Also, any time I do a change, I bring her in a little bit closer to me to let her know a change is going to happen and the closer we are together, the more she's going to feel the lead. The next thing is the feet. Out of our basic, three, four, five, six, seven, watch. I'm stepping back with my right as she's stepping forward with her right and I'm bringing her with me. Step, now we're coming kind of neutral, step, and here's the hip, and then step, step, step, hip. So the pattern for the leader is back, neutral, back, step. Now we've got to do the opposite forward, neutral, back step. It's the same step we did in the clip when we did the shifting. Now for the lady, she's going to be stepping, forward, neutral, forward, step. Forward, neutral, forward, step. So, let's smooth it all out now. From the basic, we're going and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and. One, two, thee, and five, six, seven, and. That's the Bachata pivot turn."
