"Now we're going to start in the cumbia turns. It comes from our basic. Remember our basic was back and back and back and back. You're going to use that step to create a little bit of an open break feeling. See how I'm leading it into more of an open break. What I'm doing is I'm extending the arm that's open. Now, to get into the turn, this is what it looks like. 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7. Basically what I'm doing is as she steps back, I'm using this as an open break. Now, I'm pulling her forward in a progressive step. Instead of stepping in place on her 2, she's actually going to step forward on her 2. 2, 3, I'm bringing the hand over her head, I'm leading all of this with my left hand. Our 5, 6, 7. Again, we come back into the basic. Let me show again from a different angle. We're doing 1, 2, 3. By 3, you have to already have passed each other. 5, 6, 7. The footwork for the guy. He's stepping back. Now, his 2 has to be progressive just as his partner. As he leads her forward on 2, he's also taking a progressive 2. 2, 3. The leader is going to make a big step to his left on 3 and then we come right back into the basic for 5, 6, 7. Let me smooth it out and I'll show you the steps. 5, 6, 7, we're going, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, here we go. We go 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7. Again, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7. Again, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 5, 6, 7. "
