"Are you shipping your artwork? Well, I generally let the clients pay for the shipping, I find out how much it’ll cost to ship, I’ll maybe get a professional shipping company, like U.S. Art to do it, whatever. The shipping costs in my opinion should go to the client. You might choose to pay for it yourself; you need to mark your merchandise appropriately if you’re going to be offering shipping you never know where you’re going to be shipping it to. You might want to consider crates or cardboard, protect the edges, protect the corners, make sure somebody doesn’t stick their fist through it if it’s fragile, obviously some popcorn or whatever you can get in there to prevent it from breaking on route. And the other thing is, if it’s possible just have the client pick it up, just have them come back to your gallery and get it, because really it’s a lot of work just to make sure that your work is properly crated, shipped, bound and protected to put in the mail and the mail sometimes gets lost, so if you can get them to pick it up or get them to deliver it or whatever you do but get it out of your place and into their hands safely."
