"Hi, this is Christina Varga from the Varga Gallery in Woodstock, New York and today on behalf of Expert Village we’re going to show you how to open and run your own art gallery. Now, where to open an art gallery in this day and age is very interesting because there are many online galleries. So if you think about that, there are online galleries it’s not really all that important to have a location but what it is good to do is find a location where you vibe out, whatever it is, you don’t have to be in with, you don’t have to be in New York City, you don’t have to be in Miami. You have to be where you feel good, and you feel like you want to plant your feet so that you can do all the gut-wrenching hard work, knuckle biting stuff that you’re going to have to do which is the online stuff so that people can find out about you and they can know about you. You can start a TV show, or you can do your own thing, you need to be able to tell people about it, otherwise you can just move to the city, open a really expensive space and probably close your gallery within a few years because you will have a very difficult time drumming up clientèle. In a recession, people mostly don’t buy art, but if you’re a good gallery, have a good reputation and there a few that do. "
