"Hi, this is Christina Varga from the Varga Gallery in Woodstock, New York and today on behalf of Expert Village we’re going to show you how to open and run your own art gallery. All right, the history of art and how it plays a role in galleries. Now I’ll have to say, caveat here, because I know nothing about the history of art, I really don’t except for like, from hieroglyphics and cave paintings to, you know the people that didn’t make money while they were alive and painting like Van Gogh and all the people that went crazy with him and then the people that are living now, like Banksee who blink and get like a hundred thousand dollars. So that’s the summary of the history of art for me, we are now in a time when multi-media, like Internet access and emails and cell phones and things like that, j-pegs on a disc that you mail instead of slides that you have, you know every digital camera is really cheap, all this stuff. This is very useful in order for documenting things, getting your image and your art and everything out there and reaching the public and if you can do that and have a spot to have all this stuff which you would call a gallery. Then you’re in business, then you’ve got your space, your location, your location and your location. "
