How to Make a Living as a Self-Taught Artist

"Hi, this is Christina Varga from the Varga Gallery in Woodstock, New York and on behalf of Expert Village today I’m going to show you how to be a self-taught artist, not an easy thing. You make a living by creating some sort of mystique about you and one way you can do that is fake it by painting pictures of famous people, if you’re not famous, there’s a lot of people that got that way. I happen to think of Paris Hilton as a saint so that’s what I’m doing and this is showing like a couple of the techniques. One of the things that I do is I take a razor and I just slice it off, I paint stuff and then I slice it with a razor and then I scrape away what I don’t like. Then I paint it again and I scrape more away with a razor, I cover it up with paint or whatever and what it ends up doing is creating like an aura and if you come this way though my, my sort of storage room, come, mind the lamps, hats make it easy.
