Creating Museum Pieces as a Self-Taught Artist

"Hi, this is Christina Varga from the Varga Gallery in Woodstock, New York and on behalf of Expert Village today I’m going to show you how to be a self-taught artist, not an easy thing. So you know that you can make anything out of anything and I made these three pieces that are going to a museum out of three thrown outdoors that were being thrown out on sixty-second and second where I was living in Manhattan. I made the wood mosaic out of the crates that my Hungarian green grocer was selling his fruit out of down, you might want to get some light one that, down below me on ground level and you just can use about anything you want. You think you need a really brand new expensive brush? You don’t, these are cheap ninety-nine cent bristles and I worked on them, worked with them, painted with them until they were so knobby that I can use them as sculpting tools. Now go ahead, try to do it, try to copy me, I dare you, ha, ha, ha. You won’t be able to, I wouldn’t be able to do it again if someone paid me, really. "
