I'm going to start off with my high-hat in our basic 1-2-3-4 pattern, so it goes like this... Now I'm going to add in my bass drum... Now I'm going to add my snare drum...and that is your basic rock beat pattern. Again I'm going to show you a real simple 1-2-3-4 on a high-hat...bass drum comes in...2-3-4-1-2-3-4, then you just have 2 and 4 on a snare, so it would be like...1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4-1.
