"Alright, we have a guitar that's out of tune, except for one string. This string right here, the A string is in tune, and it's tuned to the A440 of my metronome. So I'm going to tune my E to my A by fretting the E at the 5th fret and plucking the A. I'm trying to match these notes. Alright, now I'm going to do the same thing for the A and the D. I'm going to pluck the A at the 5th fret and pluck the D open, and match. That's pretty good. Now I'm checking to see how an actual chord sounds. Alright, that sounds good. Now I'm going to pluck the D at the 5th fret and tune the G. Checking the octave with the A string. Alright, that's about right. So now, this guitar is in tune for the bottom four strings."
