"BRYAN BILLHIMER: Okay, in this clip I'm going to show you how to do a palm mute. Now, this is symbolized in our notation right here. So, we're playing five, the fifth fret on the B string and the way you'll know it's a palm mute is it'll have this PM above the staff and it'll have this dash line for as long as you continue the palm mute. So in this case, we're palm muting these five notes. So, here's what a palm mute looks like on guitar. Kinda like the last time in our fret, we're going to use our fret hand muting technique like in the last clip. So, we're going to put our palm just in front of the bridge lightly. But in this palm muting, we're going to actually go ahead and fret the fret. So in our tablature, it said the fifth fret on the B string, so, we're going to fret that. So basically, we still get a percussive sound but we still get the pitch out. So, that's kinda what it sounds like. Palm muting sounds kinda better, in my opinion, on lower strings. So, that's palm muting."
