To complete our outfit, one must always wear a gaylay, or a head tie. Usually material of the same kind, that you use for your grande buba is made into a head piece. So you tie it in many different ways. Very often you'll have a beautiful two yard piece of material that you can tie into all sorts of bows and designs. This piece is a little shorter, so I'm just going to make a knot in the back, and maybe I can just let it fall. So that it can be seen behind the costume. So here I have my gaylay, I have my grande buba or my ocbada, depending on where we are asking the people. And you hold on to your material, so that when you move you can allow it to go. So holding onto the material is very important that way you won't be dancing and get it caught up all around you.
