"Welcome back to Expert Village! Another important point for hosting a great Karaoke show. Although you may be working in a bar, you should not be drinking alcohol. I know a lot of customers think their making a nice statement by offering to buy you a drink. In truth their giving the money to the bar, and you don't need to be drunk. Alcohol destroys your coordination, your throat, your tongue, your lips; all are seriously affected by alcohol. Not to mention your ability to keep straight what you are doing, follow the words and help enjoy the show. Even if someone offers to buy you a drink, thank them and say put the money in the tip jar, or just have some fun. Many, many hosts have been fired for drinking on the job. Since most Karaoke shows last until two o'clock in the morning, you certainly want to be sober to be able to drive home."
