Another tip for running a great Karaoke show, don't ask the audience to applaud for the singer before they sing, instead wait until the song is finished, the last note and then enthusiastically say let's have a great hand for our wonderful singer. What I liked.
-Short and to the point.
-Agreed with all your points... just would add the use of monitors for levels
-You used real amateur singers and was not pretentious about your own abilities. I believe karaoke is more about fun than showcasing talent (Real or imagined!)
I've been DJ'ing for years and have recently turned to karaoke. I'm running off the DJ contracts to specialize in karaoke. I'm havin' so much fun with this and appreciate any constructive tips I can find.
