"CASEY CORMIER: Another type of Latin rhythm is the Samba. A Samba you can think of, in comparison, or in contrast with the Bossa as being a little more up tempo type of rhythm. Whereas Bossa, tempo is around one, two, three, four [HUMS SLOW BOSSA]. Our samba could be like one, two, three, four [HUMS FASTER RHYTHM] and we're going to have a strumming pattern that's more like that. I'm using my thumb to strum, you might be using your pick. It works, as long as you [PLAYS SAMBA RHYTHM] the Samba is going to--let's make our A minor 7 right here. Be sure you're muting the A string even if that is the bass. The samba is going to have muted strums too [PLAYS SAMBA RHYTHM]. So it's one-and, two-and, three-and, four-and, one-and, two-and, three-and, four-and [PLAYS SAMBA RHYTHM]. one-and, two-and, three-and, four-and, one-and, two-and, three-and, four, one-and, two-and, three-and, four-and, one-and, two-and, three-and, four."
