"Now that we've learned the A type major barre chord, let's learn the A type minor style and we'll use the same example across the fifth fret we're creating a D minor now. This is our base note right? We're going to make our third finger here play the seventh fret of the D string. This time it's going to remain arched. Remember for the A major we flattened it. We're going to keep it arched for the minor. We're going to take our pinkie here, forth finger, play the seventh fret of the G, our second finger is going to play the sixth fret of the B string. Keep that barre on the fifth fret and then if you want to hear that. Like I said we're muting the low E string, you don't want to hear on top. We don't want to hear either! We want this to be our base note for now. So you notice it's similarity and shape to an E type major right? Look at that A we had before. You can move each finger down now, we have a D minor. So this would be going from an A to a D minor using barre chords. So you could use that shape but don't get them mixed up. Remember the minor starts on the D string."
