"Now that we've looked at the pattern of the seven modes; Ionian, Dorian; Phyrigian, Lydian; Mixolydian; Aeolian, and Locrian; all Greek words; we can now look at one major key; I'll say E major, and at the modes working through that. You start with E major. That will be the natural major scale of the Ionian. Our Dorian will start on F sharp. Our Phrygian will start on G sharp. Our Lydian will start on A natural. We'll play our mixolydian starting on B. Our Aeolian, or natural minor; the relative minor of E minor; is F sharp. Then finally we have our locrian, and that will start on D sharp."
