"Hi! This is Blake Whitaker for Expert Village. I'm talking about stop motion animation. Let's talk about the sets. When you picked up your character, the next thing you want to consider is where you are going to animate; the set, location or whatever you are going to do. Well you can do a lot of things. The way we have our set set up is we have a green and a surface to animate on. Now when you make your green screen, you can use paint or paper like we are using here. The important thing is that is bright green, there is actually a color called chroma key green. You can find it at your paint store or you could buy that on-line or you could find it at your local art store as poster paper. What the green screen does is it gives a background that we can replace when editing our footage. We can put any image or video back there and that becomes our new set or our new background. If you want your green screen to work, there are a couple of things to consider. The first is lighting. It needs to be lit evenly. One way to tell this is by flipping on the zero stripes on your camera. Not all cameras have this feature. If your camera does have this feature, flip on the zero stripes and make sure they are over the entire green screen. That will be proof that it is lit well and evenly."
