Tips for Simple Beat Matching When DJing

"Hi I’m DJ Brady again on behalf of ExpertVillage.com. In the last clip, I showed you how to get a beat cued up on cd player one. Now for demonstrational purposes, I’ve changed the music to simplify it just a little bit. I’m using two copies of the same beat and I’m going to show you how to get the beats lined up. We’ll start with cd player one, get it playing for a second, then we’ll bring in cd player two – wait for the down beat. Now as you can tell, those didn’t line up at all. So let’s try it again, bring it down just a little bit. Still not quite lining up, so let’s try it one more time. Now I’m going to go ahead and match it exactly, as I said, I’m using two copies of the same beat for simplification purposes. It’s a match, what I’ve done is I’ve adjusted my pitch to be even, but I can throw it off with a nudge and drag, and we have a match again. "
