"Also, I just want to make it clear when you cue a section and you are using your left hand, it is just like an invitation, you extending your hand, you kind of pointing at them, but if you do it like this, it sometimes makes them a little nervous. So, it is just an open gesture, an open invitation that gives them confidence. So now we are going to practice on cuing my double basses. I want them to come in on beat three. So I am going to give one full pattern, four four, and them I'm going to cue them in on beat three. Here we go, one, two, three, four, one, two, three [cue], four, one, two, three, four. Let's try that again. Remember eye contact, open invitation and right on beat three so that they know where to come in. One, two, three, four, one, two, three [cue], four, one, two, three, four."
