"Let's learn how to do a wrist wave. Framing the body with the arms is very important in belly dance because it show cases all the nice movement that you are doing. It also helps the audience guide their eye where you want them to look; if you have an accent on something that you're doing with your body the arms and the hands really help guide them so they know what to do. So, the wrist wave, we're going to start with our fingers pointing down and the wrists are going to go in the same direction. Now, the hard part about this movement is that it's real easy to just get the fingers going and not the wrists. You want all the motion to come from the wrists and the fingers to follow. So, the timing is very important. Now, this is a movement you can do in front or you can do it on the side. You can let it travel all the way up and do it over your head and the key thing is to keep them moving the same amount. So, feel the wrists pulling to the side as if there's a string."
