"This arm position has its origins in Egyptians folk loric dance. We're going to start be putting our thumb by our ear and making sure that our elbow comes back. The palm is facing in and the pinky is facing up. So make sure you're dropping your shoulder and keeping this nice open space here, and not letting that elbow come forward; o.k. The other arm is going to reach forward; now you don't want to show the audience your palm, you want to act like you've got these very expensive rings on and you're showing; showcasing your rings. Not showing them your rings because you still want to see them glimmer. So you want to show them and see them glimmer at the same time. Now it's important to notice here that our elbow is still dropping. And then also keep your chin up. Ok... The hand is not on the head, the head is in the hand; o.k. So let's switch sides nice and slow, bring the other thumb by the ear; pinky up, palm facing in; elbow back, hand drops showing off your rings. Elbows down, good and switch; 5 6 7 8 and switch. Now switch slowly and practice this in front of a mirror so that you can see what it looks like. Because often there's something you can catch in the mirror that you won't be able to catch otherwise."
