"How to practice Latin syncopation by doing some hand claps. First thing to do is get your foot tapping in a steady beat, something you can count along with. 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4. While you have this beat in your head you have to imagine another instrument coming in over the top of the tapping that?s going to be your hand claps and you have to learn to separate your foot that is still going and your hand claps that?s going to be going at a different beat. So, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1. There is the basic rhythm of Latin jazz that you can practice on your own. Once you have that in your head you can take that same rhythm and put it into the piano. There you go, there is some Latin jazz."
