"Hello! On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Barry Bergman and today I am going to give you tips on how to get a record deal. Getting interest from a record company is like a horse race. You can have 10 horses in a race and 1 horse comes in number 1 and pays $100. The second horse comes in number 2 and pays $10 and the question we have to ask ourself is did the number 1 horse run 10 times faster and the answer is no. The answer is he was just a nose ahead and in the music business you need to be like the number 1 horse, a nose ahead. You need to create some interest through doing something unusual and bringing attention to yourself to get a demand going that wouldn't ordinarily have been there and a lot of people are able to do it today through the emergence of technology and it is very very important that we don't lose sight that we need to be a nose ahead.
