"Hello! On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Barry Bergman and today I am going to give you tips on how to get a record deal. It is very important to understand that there are two ways to get to a record deal. One with representation and one without representation. Without representation you go out and create the interest in demand and when someone comes and wants to do something with you, you go and get an entertainment lawyer. Otherwise what you can do is retain an entertainment lawyer and there are transactional lawyers that do paperwork and transactions and then there are others that do that and also shop deals. If you have your package together, your press kit and your music and you are prepared to go out to play and back it up, you can a lawyer in the industry, you can retain them and have them run around for the labels because all they have to do is make a few phone calls and they can get the people over night and get your music hurried by the powers to be at various different labels.
