On behalf of Expert Village, I am Benjamin Ford Asriel. Um, I'm with Dance Lab NYC here at Stepping Out Studios, and today we'll be talking about post-modern dance. So something that, you know, is infinitely important in contemporary dance making is, just, kind-of almost a scientific artistic approach to simple movements, such as walking. So, if you're standing, and you're walking, there are lots of movements happening in the body. Um, and dance-makers for centuries have been interested in locomotion, and how the body travels through space. So, where post-modern and contemporary dances might never make as unique in that, but some things that I certainly intend to pay attention to, is where the weight is in my foot as I am moving forward. If my foot is moving from side-to-side, if as I push off there is still weight in my heel. Um, if I am lifting my heel off the floor I transfer away to the other foot. So, you could really pay attention to how your weight is landing through your feet, for instance.
