"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Benjamin Ford Asriel, I'm with dance-lab NYC here at Stepping Out Studios, and today we'll be talking about post-modern dance. Another thing that's common is floor-work, or being on the floor. Now, clearly you're not going to be dancing on the floor all of the time, so often people need a way to get to the floor. So, falling tends to be common in contemporary dance. Clearly you could just go to the floor by bending and putting your hands down, but people tend to want to use, actually, the tops of their feet as a surface to get to the floor or their knees. So, I'm just going to show you a really simple fall. So you're going to put all the weight on one foot, bend that knee, and put the opposite knee on the floor. That can happen slowly like I just did it, putting your knee on the floor, or it can happen really big where you fall. That's similar to, even though I've never actually taken romantic technique; it's very similar to a post-modern fall."
