On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Benjamin Ford Asriel, I'm with dance lab NYC her at Stepping Out Studios. And today we will be talking about Post Modern Dance. So the idea of using your head as a stabilization or a weight is really used for an inversion. So this is a simple, this actually comes from a capoeira from Brasil but it is used all the time in contemporary dancing. So if I am going to do basically a cartwheel, I am going to find first of all, plie or bend my knees and weight in my pelvis and I am going to allow my head to tip to the left and my weight to fall into my hands as I move to the side. So rather than looking at the floor, other than looking at the floor, I am really trying to allow my head to go like a plum line straight to the floor. So just down, up or down and up. And that can be useful in other positions as well for instance if you want to do circle, I am releasing my hand to stand or I releasing my head to stand.
