"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Benjamin Ford Asriel. I'm with Dance Lab NYC here at Stepping Out Studios. And today, we'll be talking about post modern dance. Great, so, here's another position that is often used in release work. This is an "X". This is I think from log on. And in this position, you want to feel your spine is vertical. You're allowing the curves in the spine to happen and you're releasing the front of the hip. And you can just notice that, there's one line from you right arm through your left leg. And there's another line from your left arm through your right leg. So you're creating a big, giant "X" on the ground. And some things that are useful from this position are, side curves. So, I'm just going to bring my right elbow to my right knee and that's going to curve my body to the right. And, I can feel the length of my left side. Similarly, I can retrograde that or reverse that back to an "X". So on the left side, I can bring my left elbow to my left knee, and then I can extend my right side long. And this is the beginning of a roll. So you're just going to move your left side together, move your right side, and roll onto your knees. "
