Video Transcript

"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Benjamin Ford Asriel, and I'm with Dance Lab NYC here at Stepping Out Studios and today we'll be talking about post-modern dance. So, post-modern dance technically started at Judson Church in the nineteen-sixties. And the word post-modern then is literally meant after the modern dance or after the modern techniques of people like Graham and Isadora Duncan, and, oh god, all of those people, there are so many people. And it very, very much influenced by Cunningham and Cage. A lot of people will refer to, what we're calling here at Dance Lab, post-modern dance, is meant to be very timely, so not staying within the rigorous technique of Graham or of Cunningham or of Lemon, but rather moving on into what is going on today right now, in New York and in the rest of the world."
