"Hey! I'm Arie Pytel for Expert Village and now that we've talked about all the different components that you might consider for your home studio for music production recording, we are going to talk about the order of connection for those devices. So starting with a microphone is our primary input source for instruments or vocals. We will be going from that microphone directly to a preamp. Now if we have a controller faced with a preamp, we might actually skip this step but we are going to go from the microphone to the preamp and from the preamp into the control interface. The control interface then will be hooking up our USB or firewire directly to our computer and depending on your control interface you are going to want to go from the stereo house of either the computer or the control interface into your referenced monitors. Depending on your set up, you may or may not need some sort of mixer in order to mix the stereo sounds. "
