"Hi! I'm Arie Pytel for Expert Village. Today we are continuing our conversation about how to build your home studio for music recording. Now let's talk a little bit more about microphones; different types of microphones that you might want to use for your different types of recordings. Now there is several types of microphones some which are good for music recording and some which really have no place in the studio. The types of microphones that we will want to use are dynamic microphones, condenser microphones or capacitor microphones as well as ribbon microphones. In general, the higher quality of microphone the better your sound source is. When it comes to a high quality recording, most important part of the whole chain of recording from production to finishing is that original sound source. If you have a good sound source to begin with, you are more than likely going to have less problems in the end when you are trying to edit your music, sync it up to other instruments, etc. "
