"ATHENA REICH: In this clip, I'm going to talk about how to prepare your press kit before you contact the venues. Get a regular folder and--I like to put something colorful on the front. This is my logo. It's a sticker. You can put a picture of yourself. You can decorate it. You can put a candy cane. Use your creativity. Do something that will set you apart from the competition. Inside, you're going to definitely have your CD or demo in there and you're going to have a bunch of things. One of them is a one page bio. I have my logo so I've created my own header which looks very professional but you can tell it's fun. It's creative. Be creative but professional. My one page bio--I have my one page review sheet. If you don't have a lot of reviews, ask your friends, other musicians to put a little quote about you. You can use bigger fonts so it doesn't look as sparse. And on the bottom of each of these pages by the way, it has my contact information. Bio review, I have a press release for my CD. I have a one sheet which has everything and pictures, stats. And I have a cover letter."
