"ATHENA REICH: In this clip, I'm going to talk about how to exit the audition room. Very simply, smile. They'll say "Thank you," and you say "Thank you," and you come up and you get your book, you walk out, you can smile at them, and you leave. Something that you don't want to do is stand there too long, awkwardly ask, waiting, hoping that they'll give you call back on the spot. That never happened for a Broadway show. Sometimes, it happens for a regional theater. It'll never happen for a Broadway show. They usually need to have meetings and really talk about things. So, you just want to get out of there with confidence. You don't need to linger. You know, act like you feel good about what you did, even if you think you did a terrible job because I'm telling you, sometimes, this has happened to me. You think, "Oh my god. I just did the worst audition ever," and you get a call back. You can't judge yourself. So walk out business-like, satisfied, quickly, act like you know you're the stuff, and it's just a matter of time before you get a job, but not too arrogant."
