"ATHENA REICH: In this clip, I'm going to talk about how to interpret a breakdown. This is called a breakdown. It's information about the audition. This is for "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," inside Broadway, it's in New York. The first place that I look is for what they're seeking. You don't want to go in an audition where they're seeking 14-year-old girls if you're a 36-year-old man. Definitely don't waste your time. So, look at what they're seeking. What kind of people. For me, I go for more character actresses, lovers, things like that but I don't go for the sweet, innocent character that often 'cause I'm a little bit more sass. So, really know who you are and read what they're seeking and really go for that. Look--this is the other second most important thing, preparation. Are you prepared to go to this audition? In this, they want two songs in the style of the show. If you don't know the show, you know what I do? I go to iTunes and I listen to it and I think, "Do I have songs in that style?" So, check out what they're seeking and the preparation and if you're ready to go, all the information about where to go, what time to get there is right there on the breakdown."
