Tuning a Guitar by Ear

"In this segment, we're going to talk about another way to tune your guitar. This is a really common way. This is tuning it to itself. I'm going to go to the fifth fret. One-two-three-four-five. Put my little finger right here on the sixth string of the fifth fret and I'm going to press really hard. And, I'm going to go like this. And, I'm going to play this note the A. Do they sound like the same note? They sure do. Because, my guitar is tuned. But, let me put it out and you'll see what I mean. Na-na two different notes. Na-na. But, I can bring it up. Bring it up there. So, it sounds like na-na. And, then so now they're prefect. Now, I go like this. That's perfectly tuned. But, if it wasn't I could switch this one to change this note here the fourth string. I hear, that's good. Now, here's the only trick. For this string for the third string, third from the top from the bottom. One-two-three. I've got to go to the fourth fret. Sounds pretty good. And, here. And, you can do a little double check by making sure these both sound like the same note E and E. And, they do. It's tuned."
