Aspect Ratio: Videography Terms

"Now we’re currently on segment eleven and I’m going to be talking to you about aspect ratio, now the two largest aspect ratios are 4x3 and 16x9. Now a 4x3 you’ll generally see on your standard television show when you’re watching your television you got your 13 inch the smaller television it’s just the regular small looks kind of like a square so when you’re watching that you know most television shows are in that. Most movies that you actually see however, in 16x9 ratio which is the wide screen format and what they is when they have the movies they come in and they kind of crop the edges off, so you’re actually missing a little bit of the picture when you’re watching it on your standard television.
