"I want to demonstrate to you proper triangle holding and playing technique. Now, you're going to hold the triangle out at about an arms length, about shoulder height. Which translates into almost ear height for everybody else that's listening. If you're right handed you want the open part of the triangle to be to your left, basically the far side. Which gives you access to the broad side of the triangle right here. The side opposite the open end. Traditionally the triangle is to be played in the upper section of the broad end; the side opposite the open end. So, holding it up in good position, strike and release. That's the thing, you don't want to hold the hammer against the triangle itself, otherwise you're not going to get a full sound out of it. There's the traditional way to hold and play the triangle."
