"Hello, my name is Aaron De Azevedo, and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village to teach you a little bit about a home recording studio. We're going to talk about price. How much does it really cost to get a decent recording studio going? Well, you're going to need hundreds of thousands of dollars to have a really, really nice one like the big professional ones. Here we have a decent setup. We've got a computer. Talking probably about $3000. You've got to put lots of RAM in it. You've got a keyboard. You can get a cheap one for a few hundred bucks to a thousand dollars. You've got monitors. These will go anywhere from $300 to $500, maybe even $1000 but usually around five hundred bucks. We need an input device. What this does is lets me plug into here. I plug into here and play my guitar, and it goes into my computer and records it on my hard drive-around a thousand bucks. You can get a cheap one for $500, anywhere up to a couple thousand bucks. So that's what we're looking at to get started. So, I also have some other things in here. These are optional. Here's a synthesizer. It's called a JB-1080. It's kind of old, but it's a classic. I don't know how much those go for right now, $300 or so. Nice reverb unit. Those can be a thousand dollars. But that stuff isn't as necessary as the first stuff I mentioned. So that's what we're looking at to get a recording studio. You're going to want to invest probably about $5000 at least into it."
