"Hey there! My name is Aaron Moon and I am here today on behalf of expervillage.com. Just recently I’ve taken off my low and high E string and I am going to demonstrate how to restring this up. I’ve got a pack of strings here. These are Elixir strings, great strings; slogan says great tone, long life. I think that it is probably true. This is .053 that stands for the thickness of the string and this is our low E string. It comes coiled up like that with an uncoil and we are going to stick this end of the string right here down here into the bridge. So it goes in like that. You are going to take the peg and you want the section of the peg with the slit in it, just like that. You can see it to go right onto the string like that. So you can press the peg in pretty tight. It’s not going to be totally secure at first and you can lift up on the string to make sure that that end comes nice and snug up there. So it sets in, bring the string down to the head stock. You can see right here with the tuners, this little hole right there. So you want to stick top of the string through the hole, like so. Then this is up to you, you don’t have to but some people like to do this. You can take the string, you can bend it, after it goes through the hole, and you can take it and pull it down to the left of this tuner right here, like that. Now all you have to do is probably not a bad idea to keep on checking down here as you are tuning it up because these pegs have a tendency to kind of pop up as you are tuning, as the string is being tightened more and more. So you can even keep it on there as you tighten it. There is nothing here. Right now it is completely slack, it’s just getting a little better. All right. Now for beginner you might think that this string is pretty tight. It is producing a decent sound right now and decent tone."
