"Hello there! My name is Aaron Moon and I am here with you today on behalf of expertvillage.com. Today I am discussing the acoustic steel string guitar and now I would like to demonstrate how to correctly tune a guitar using a piano. Some folks tune their guitar using a piano. Some folks tune their guitar using an electric tuner and they come in a wide variety of prices; some are very pricey and some pretty affordable. If you have a piano or keyboard, you can do the same even if you don’t have a great ear you can still train yourself to tune your guitar with the piano. So first thing you want to do is know the names of the strings. This is low E, this is A, this is D, this is G, 5th string is B and this is your high E. So once you know that and you want to tune your guitar, find yourself a piano and you want to locate a low E on the piano which is going to be right there. So if you don’t know where the E is on the piano, it is the white key right after your second black key because your black keys are 2 and 3’s. Now let’s say you just came across an old acoustic guitar in a closet or someone gave one to you or in the attic and it is completely out of tune. So let’s just take this like so. We’ll just kind of untune this. Sounds pretty bad. So first thing we are going to do is find the E on the piano. Now we are going to line that up with our low E. Hit it one more time. That’s pretty close."
