"Hey there! My name is Aaron Moon and I am here today on behalf of expertvillage.com. Today I am going to be discussing the acoustic steel string guitar and right now I would like to demonstrate playing sitting down and also playing standing up with the strap. Some of this might seem obvious but for beginner guitar players, there are a few things you should know about playing sitting down. With the classical guitar, which this isn’t, players will hold the guitar in between their legs like this with more vertical alignment to the guitar neck. With the steel string, you want to place this section of the guitar, this curved section, on your knee. You want to have it pretty close to the body. You want to have it to be comfortable; it really depends on the player. But you don’t want it way out on the end of your knee, so you are reaching over like that and it is a stretch for you. You kind of want it close; some people lean over, some people have it nice and tight and very close to their body. If you want to play with a strap, first you need a strap and this is just kind of a normal guitar strap that you can use for an acoustic guitar or an electric guitar. Up on the top is a device to tighten and loosen your strap. You can just use that like so to give yourself some more room and to tighten it just pull down on this portion. So with this guitar, this is an acoustic electric, and this right here is used to connect the strap, like so but it is also where your cord is going to go. You are going to plug your cord in here, your patch cord, and you are going to plug it into an amplifier from there. Now this guitar doesn’t have another strap peg up here, so what we are going to need to do is tie a string through the hole that would go around the strap peg, stick it through like that and you can tie it like that just to give it some stability."
