"Hi! This is Adam Anderson on behalf of Expert Village and I am going to talk to you about your pedal board is part of your guitar rig. So using the pedal board as part of your overall guitar rig is very important. Some guitar players use the pedals and the certain effects to sort of distinguish themselves from other guitar players. Other guitar players use it as sort of just special effects to just sort of accentuating certain parts of their playing without their guitar and guitar amplifier really take care of their overall guitar sound. So the way a pedal board and all the individual effects sound is really dependent on the type of amplifier you use. I personally use my pedal board in conjunction with a high gain 2 amp and I use the distortion that is produced by the amp to take care of my overall gain based kind of things but I use my pedal board mostly for accentuating certain parts of sounds to make certain parts of songs stand out. Some guitar players use the pedal boards as their overall guitar sound not really depending on the guitar amplifier so much. They will use distortion pedals, various distortion pedals depending on different types of songs they are playing. If it is a heavier song, they will use a heavier distortion pedal like a rap distortion and if you want to have maybe a softer sound, they won't really use distortion pedals so much but maybe depend on like some boost or EQ and then sort of accentuate stuff with the modulation and time based effects. In that case, what you will want to do is put your pedal board directly into guitar amp using one cable in putting into your gain based effects and then outputting from your time based effects directly into your guitar's amplifier input. Like I said before I use my guitar amplifier distortion. So what I do is I use my pedal board in the effects loop of the amp and any high gain sort of high end 2 amp will have an effects loop and you will see that on back of your amplifier. It will be an effects send and effects return. Effects send will go into the input of your gain based effects and your output of your time based effects will go into the effects return on the back of your guitar amp. "
