"Hi! This is Adam Anderson on behalf of Expert Village. I am going to talk to you about doing your power set up for your pedal board. The next step in assembling your pedal board is determining your power set up. There are various options you can use to power the individual pedals you have. You can either use the battery compartments in the individual house or you can use a power strip with AC adapter which I prefer to use because you don't have to worry about your batteries running out of power in the middle of a performance. So what I use when picking power supply, the first thing I will pick is a little profile small surge protector or most commonly known as a power strip. On my individual pedal board set up, I have a small compartment here where my power strip will actually fit in there very nicely. So the next step you would determine your power supply, I would suggest using an extension cord to be off of your surge protector or your power strip because you never know where your band is playing, where the actual outlet is going to be. It could in the back of the drum riser or it could be all the way in the front of the club near the bar. So what I do is I use an extension cord so that your power can reach wherever the power outlet is. To actually power up the individual pedals, you can use a variety 9 volt adapters that the individual manufacturer's make. Different manufacturer's make a variety of options that you can use to power up either just one pedal or they also make some that power up a variety of pedals. They can be using up to 6 different pedals at one time. What I would recommend using the power adapter that the individual manufacturer makes for that individual pedal. You really wouldn't want to use different manufacturer's power supply because the power supplies that these individual manufacturer's make for their own pedals is really made to have optimal performance with their own pedals that they make. They use less power and they are less likely to sort of black out when there is a power overload at a club because you know what the actual power supply is going to be at the club you pay at. "
