"All right, let's select the autofocus point on your Canon 40D. There are a lot of different ways to do this. Let's just talk about this one. There is a button on the back of your 40D on the right side, it's the furthest button to the right. Right here it's got a square with five dots kind of making a cross shape there. And what you can do is go ahead and just push that button and what will happen is on the top here, on the top LCD screen, you see some options for autofocus. Right now, the way that focus mode is set up, that is set up to auto select all of your points. So every point in that setting is active. Now what I can do is scroll through all these different autofocus points. There are nine different points, and what I'm doing is just using this quick selection wheel here to scroll through all of those. You can also use this joy stick looking thing here on the back, and it basically moves around in like nine different directions. And you can see on the top here that also moves the autofocus point selection around, so... What I'm going to do is choose the center selection point if I can get to it here. Let's see... going to scroll through these. Okay. So now I've selected one autofocus point and that's at the very center of my sensor, and that menu will go away after about three seconds. Again, to check to see where your autofocus is, you can also look through your Viewfinder to see which point is active when you press this autofocus button here on the back. You'll also be able to see which point you've selected there. But probably the quickest and easiest way to see is just to look on the top of your LCD screen here on the camera, and so that is how you select the... either all of the autofocus points or one of the nine."
