"Hi! This is Vincent Laporta for Expert Village. Now that we've preserved our pumpkin with our Vaseline, now we're going to light our pumpkin up. Now, as I said in other clips, there are different candles you can use. I like using the tea candles. They're all self contained and you can place them any way want. There are also other candles that you can use where you can go into these hobby stores and all these Halloween stores, and you use to about a 2-inch candle. The holder sticks right into the inside of the pumpkin so it doesn't fall and circles the entire candle for safety. That's also a nice light too. I'm lighting my candle. Find a place for him. When we put the lid on, remember what I said. Remember what I said when you put the lid on you let it sit for a little while. The heat has to escape. I've had the lid on here for a little bit, so let's see if it shows you. There it is there. That's where I have the position of the candle and the heat is being transferred to that one spot. What we're going to do is we're going to take our saw blade and we're just going to put it in there. Now, another thing you can use because the lid is a little bit hotter. You can use yourself an apple core because it'll do in one shot and you can go right around to make a perfect vent hole. We do this so it doesn't catch the pumpkin on fire by drying it out and it allows the heat to escape. We put this through. Push this through here. This is the piece and there's the hole. It's towards the back, so when we put this here the heat will escape from the pumpkin. There's the hole. The stem blocks the hole so it's not really seen. Once you start carving more pumpkins, building up your confidence, you can start getting into a lot more difficult pumpkins, a lot more difficult carvings. There are so many that you can do so don't be afraid. Just attack it and just do everything I said and you'll learn things and little tricks that'll make it easy for yourself. I've been doing it for years and my kids have loved it. I've given them away as gifts. Happy Halloween and keep carving."
