"Hi! I'm Vincent Laporta for Expert Village, and now that we've cut out all the rest of the pieces on our pumpkin face. Sometimes you have to go back and do a little fine tuning, which is usually cleaning up a little bit. On the side here, you want the roundness to come here. I'm going to take my long blade and I'm going to cut inward just a little bit and then come this way and take it away. Now we've made the eye round. It don't have the overhang of the way it was cut. When you do that you take a paper towel and you can put it in the eyes. You also have to realize the difficulty of the pumpkin that you're doing. You aren't just going to slam it in there. You're going to take your time. Since this is big cuts, there's not as much delicacy to the whole thing and it cleans up. Make it look nice and neat. I will do this one here. That pretty much does it for the clean up. Now, if you cut your pumpkins, I tend to try to cut my pumpkins about 2 weeks before Halloween simply because you pierce the skin and the it's going to start deteriorate the pumpkin. There are protective things that you do for your pumpkin. You can take Vaseline with a q-tip and coat the entire inside of where you cut and then put a piece of over the front and always keep it cool if you can. Since we're in October, usually the days are always cool. That would give it a little more longevity, but like I said, I tend to try to cut these pumpkins before the end of the month for Halloween so that they still look good. Depending on the picture that you choose and how much of the pumpkin you have to take away, especially if you have little slivers and little lines. Those will tend to go faster than something that's thick like this here. "
