"Hi! I'm Vincent Laporta on behalf of Expert Village. When we start to get the lid off the pumpkin so that we can clean it out, I like to stand up on top of it so I'm above it. I get a downward view as I'm scraping the pumpkin. We want to scrape our pumpkin to be about an inch thick in the surface area where we're going to be doing our carving. I like to stand above it and look down into it so I know I did a nice scraping, a nice cleaning so that we're able to have a nice carving on our pumpkin. We're going to use the heavier blade of these 2 saws that we have. Now, don't worry about how the pumpkin looks if it's an odd shape. We're only concerned about the front of where we're going to do our caving. As I said, we go in from an angle and we start to cut our pumpkin always keeping it straight. Don't try to bend it or guide it any way. Just do the sawing action. As we saw, we're sawing at an angle and we keep it that way. When we get towards the back, we're going to make that little tongue that I told you about, or tooth. Now, I'm going to show you when you make the tooth you just go straight down and then straight across. Don't try to twist the blade. If you try to twist the blade, the blade will break because they aren't like real saws. They're little metal coping blades. As I make this tooth. You'll see later on what I mean by it. I'm carving all the way around. You carve it big enough because you have to able to stick your hand in there. If you make the hole too small, it's going to be difficult to put your candle or even cleaning. I'm almost done here. Okay, just about through. Now I'm through. I like to take some towels, lay them down so I can put all these seeds and the inside of the pumpkin. Don't wreck the pumpkin itself, but pry it out. There we go. As I was saying, the angle is very important. This is the tooth right there. Now, I know every time I put this lid back I can just line it up with the tooth and it'll go just where it belongs. I won't have any confusion. This here we'll trim off later."
