"Hi! I'm Vincent Laporta on behalf of Expert Village. Let's get started. We're going to take our large blade tool and we're going to carve the top of our lid for our pumpkin. As we start to carve, we're going to make it round enough. We're not going to go too big, but we are going to make sure that we cut the cut at angles. The reason why we cut at an angle is so that as the pumpkin sits there and it starts to age. If we just cut it straight, then what would happen is the lid will drop straight in. This way here when it's at angle it sits on its sides, and we're also going to make sure that the carve like a little tooth in the back here. You'll see what I mean, so that we're always putting the lid in the actual position that it belongs. After we cut the lid and we clean out the pumpkin and we get finished, what we will do is we'll also cut a hole into the back of the lid so that where the candle is lit it'll put a burn mark in this way here. It's like a vent to let out the heat so it doesn’t burn the inside of the lid. I'll be showing you that in further clips."
