"MATT CAIL: Hi, I'm Matt Cail. And on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to be providing you with tips to make your travel a lot easier this holiday season. Another travel tip for the airport is recognizing the importance of E-tickets. E-tickets are a magic bullet to help you save at least a few minutes, potentially more depending on how busy the airports are. Basically what these are this is your itinerary. This is your magic pass through security and onto the plane after you've cleared security. So what exactly does this do? Well, it will identify you; it will give your flight information. Back in the day, a lot of people would get paper tickets, which meant you had to go up to the counter, you had to deal with somebody, and then they would give you your ticket. Then they actually had a phase where we had to deal with both paper tickets and E-tickets, which is where you could print out the E-ticket at home, avoid most of the ticket process entirely, don't even worry about it, or you could still go get the old paper tickets at the counters. Most paper tickets, if not all, have been phased out in this current day and age. So E-tickets are pretty much your only option, but there's still a couple of ways to get them. You can print them out at home, in most cases, which are great. You don't even have to go up to the counter then, or you can still go to the counter and they have a computer kiosk where you can enter in your information material and then they give you an E-ticket. This adds an extra wrinkle, and I've also heard people who were not able to print out an E-ticket properly at the airport's kiosk. So if you can trust your computer, if you trust your printer, take a couple of minutes, you go on there, usually airlines will e-mail you an E-ticket, or they'll give you access to where you can go to print them out. Take the time, do it, it eliminates one step automatically, one last step of uncertainty on your travel plan for the holidays. "
