"MATT CAIL: Hi, I'm Matt Cail. And on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to be providing you with tips to make your travel a lot easier this holiday season. Do you want to make your Thanksgiving travel at least half as easy or half as difficult as the average Joe or Jane? There's a very easy thing you can do, which will automatically have your travelling troubles. And this involves when you decide on leaving for Thanksgiving dinner and coming back for Thanksgiving dinner. Odds are, if you will have any serious trouble ahead of you, you're probably not going to travel on Thursday. Most people will travel on the Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving; that is a peak-travel day. And then a lot of people will travel on the day after Thanksgiving which is also an amazingly high-volume travel day. I've drawn in little red thorns above what I call the [SOUNDS LIKE] eek zone for Thanksgiving travel. The eek zone is the day before Thanksgiving Day and after. Like I was talking about, these are the really big, super travel days. This is when everybody and their mother and brother is going to be out at the airports, the bus stops, the car-rental places, everywhere you also have to go. An easy way to make your Thanksgiving trip home much easier is to consider going a little earlier and coming back a little later. If you have the flexibility in your schedule and you have enough annual leave at work or you have a break long enough from classes, definitely consider extending your stay a little longer. It will give you more time with family and friends. And the volumes on the Tuesday and Monday before Thanksgiving, and the Saturday and Sunday, and definitely the next Monday are much, much lighter. The travel volumes are much lighter. You're going to have a lot less competition for the same services and a lot less strain on the transportation infrastructure. So if you can, consider extending your Thanksgiving vacation a little longer. You'll save a lot of stress."
